With September marking the start of many things such as Q3; the academic year; and much more. This month's focus will be The Importance Of Taking The First Step. ...often, the hardest part when chasing our dreams or goals is taking the first step.

Many years ago I had the idea of a wellness platform placed upon my heart. Before wellness was the in thing I knew I wanted to build a community with support and information sharing at the core, but procrastination always got the better of me. Sometimes I'd even go as far as creating something that worked towards where I know I needed to be but lack of consistency kept me in a chokehold. Trapped in between knowing what I needed to do and the inability to get it done I often self sabotaged and talked myself out of doing it. You won't be any good, people won't like it, it just ain't worth it..... I even went as far as to get my life coaching accreditation, started with a few clients, then dropped off again. I have never stopped writing and was able to maintain some sort of consistency with my little snippets and quotes here and even produced a planner, all the while knowing that my calling was somewhat a little different. I looked on at other what other wellness brands were building with awe and a tinge of envy, knowing that had I lived out my vision I would be in a similar position....yet I was still not inspired or motivated to do what I needed to do. The process of believing in yourself can sometimes be painful. We beat ourselves up for not having enough confidence, as if that will magically create the boldness we desire; we let the negative ego talk us out of our dreams and end up staying stuck all the while frustrated with ourselves and the world around us. Essentially rather than focusing on our coulda/shoulda/woulda been we have to simply take the first step. One step at a time we can fulfil our purpose. By letting go of negative thoughts, ego and comparison and only focusing on the step at hand we will eventually realise we have the power to end up exactly where we need to be. One step at a time. So here I am, taking one step at a time. Letting go of all my missed steps or missteps, and focusing on fulfilling my purpose 'one step at a time'. Next time you feel overwhelmed by what it is you think you need to get done I want you to remember that one step at a time you can achieve everything you want.
